I have been a member of the Society of Children's book writer's and illustrators since 2013. That was the year I wrote my very first novel. I didn't even have a completed manuscript when I attended my first conference. It was such an amazing experience, listening to authors, agents and editors teach all about the industry. If you would have told that girl that a few short years later I would be on faculty at the same conference she would have laughed and cried at the same time! I had an amazing time last weekend presenting to my fellow writers all about how they can "Use the Enneagram to Craft Characters." I wasn't even all that nervous because I felt like I was among friends. I am so grateful to SCBWI for all the help and encouragement they have given me along the way. I hope to continue to be involved for many years to come.
